IC2 welcomes Franco Vera to our team as our newest MEMS Process Engineer. Franco is a recent graduate from the University of Florida where he received a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering. As IC2 continues to commercialize technologies derived from SBIR / STTR projects, the need to fabricate, process, and package sensors grows in tandem. Franco’s skills and knowledge of fabrication technologies will propel these efforts forward and enhance our manufacturing capabilities.
Franco previously worked at the Nanoscale Research Facility (NRF) at the University of Florida conducting research and learning fundamental and advanced processes techniques. Mr. Vera also worked more recently at Plasma-Therm, LLC as a process engineer meeting with customers, optimizing parameters, and developing processes for complex etch and deposition projects.
During his time at the University of Florida, Franco offered his knowledge through private tutoring services from pre-algebra to multivariate calculus. Franco also completed a variety of personal projects including a monopoly simulation focusing on error analysis and optimization methods.
