IC2, a pioneer in the development of precision MEMS sensors for aerospace applications, will be exhibiting with a booth and presenting a technical paper at AIAA Aviation 2019 in Dallas, TX. The technical program for the 2019 AIAA Aviation and Aeronautics Forum and Exposition, running from Jun 17th-21st, includes over 1100 research papers in areas such aerodynamic measurement, aircraft design, fluid mechanics, and many others. The exposition hall will feature 35 companies and organizations and will be open from Jun. 18th-20th.
IC2 will be exhibiting In booth 509 of the expo hall and will be featuring the latest generation of DirectShear Sensors, industry-first microsensors that measure shear stress directly, providing a robust, high-bandwidth, high-resolution measurement. DirectShear employs silicon-micromachined, differential capacitive, shear stress sensing technology and is suitable for both subsonic and transonic applications. This innovative design enables direct, non-intrusive, mean and fluctuating wall shear-stress measurements, ideal for precise skin-friction measurements in wind-tunnels. This sensor system greatly extends the spatial and temporal resolution capabilities over existing devices as well as the overall accuracy of skin friction measurement technology.
Dr. David Mills of IC2 will also be presenting a technical paper at the conference entitled, “Characterization of a Fully-Differential, Dual-Axis, Capacitive Wall Shear Stress Sensor System for Low-Speed Wind Tunnels”. This paper describes our latest developments of a dual-axis wall shear stress sensor system for two-dimensional skin friction measurements.
