Research and Development

IC2 goes to great lengths to maximize performance of our sensors, which often translates into years of intense R&D to mature a technology until it’s ready to go. The products we manufacture are of great value to multiple government agencies (e.g. NASA, DOD) and are typically developed and matured under research grants and contracts via the Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs from the US Government. Through these programs, IC2 has been developing advanced technologies from the concept stage through advanced prototypes, then transitioning these technologies into commercial products.

These programs typically are executed in a 3 phase approach. Phase 1 (P1) being a proof of concept, Phase 2 (P2) prototype delivery, and Phase 3 (P3) commercialization of the researched product.
